On Saturday 22nd September, some of Graveney and Figges Marsh’s top gardeners came together for our annual GRAVENEY & FIGGES MARSH IN BLOOM Awards Ceremony. This is always a wonderful opportunity for keen gardeners to get together to talk about a favourite topic – gardening.
During the month of July, across the ward, 102 gardens were selected and photographed by Ward Councillor Linda Kirby and local gardener, Keith Spiers. Gardeners were then written to and invited to attend the ceremony.
We had 3 judging categories with a £25 gardening voucher for each winner.
Graveney Ward winners were:

M Barclay – POTS, TUBS AND WINDOW BOXES WINNER
Everyone whose garden is selected gets a GRAVENEY IN BLOOM, PRETTY FRONT GARDEN 2018 Certificate.
Next year, we will be dropping the specific categories and awarding 3 prizes to the Prettiest Front Gardens in the ward. Plus, local gardeners will be able to show-off their rear gardens to one another during our Graveney OPEN GARDEN week (to be arranged for June 2019).
